Janjar & Mursi Irrigation scheme lies in the Municipalities of Konispol & Finiq covering an agricultural area of 5500ha. The municipalities are located in the southern edges of the country. The Janjar & Mursi irrigation scheme is composed of: i) Janjar Reservoir including the dam and 22km of main irrigation canal of Janjar; ii) Mursi Reservoir including the dam and 33 km of main canals V1,V2 and their secondary canals; iii) Vagalat Sopik irrigation canal 19km supplied from Janjar Canal; iv) Bufi Branch 14 km supplied from Janjar Canal; v) Konispol Canal 11 km supplied from Janjar Canal; vi) Mursi feeder canal 5 km and its secondaries.
The Consultant is required to make a feasibility study for the rehabilitation of the Janjar Canal & Mursi Irrigation scheme for an area of up to 5500 ha and the drainage scheme of Mursi for an area up to 2000 ha. Under Dam Rehabilitation and Dam Safety Report scope of work the project requires Dam Rehabilitaion work, Preliminary studies and analysis, and Design and prepare for tender dam rehabilitation works. The consultant prepares detailed engineering designs for Janjar & Mursi irrigation schemes including dams and canal infrastructure. The Consultant prepares the technical specification, bills of quantities and drawings required for procurement of works contracts according to the World Bank procedures (as stipulated in the World Bank Standard Documents). The project also requires carrying out Environment Social Management Plan of the Janjar & Mursi irrigation scheme in the framework of the component 1 of the Water Resources Irrigation Project (WRIP) to mitigate the adverse effects, including the socio-economic aspects. To achieve the objectives of this project the Consultant Company is in charge of Civil Works Supervision including irrigation, drainage & dam rehabilitation.
